Hello, I am Subhabrata Roy, a dedicated enthusiast of street photography, based in the enchanting city of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. By profession, I am a school teacher, but my heart belongs to photography. It's not just a hobby; it's a passion that has illuminated my life. In 2017, I embarked on a remarkable journey into the world of street photography, a path that has been illuminated by the vibrant and culturally rich backdrop of Kolkata. 

At the outset of my journey, I found my muse in the works of accomplished Kolkata-based photographers. Artists such as Arghya Chatterjee, Sankar Ghose, Saumalya Ghosh, and Raj Sarkar were the guiding lights who ignited my passion for street photography. Their ability to capture the soul of Kolkata's streets, the stories etched in the faces of its people, and the interplay of light and shadow, left an indelible mark on my creative spirit. 

As my journey progressed, I had the privilege of discovering new influences, both locally and internationally. Visionaries like Koushik Sinha Roy, Siddhartha Paul, Gabi Ben Avraham, and other luminaries in this genre have further enriched my perspective. Their innovative approaches and unique storytelling through the lens have broadened my horizons and continually inspire me to evolve as a street photographer. 

However, despite the guidance and inspiration, my quest in street photography is an ongoing search for that elusive spark that propels me further into the realm of storytelling through images. I am a seeker of the extraordinary in the ordinary, and the streets are my canvas for this ongoing exploration. 

My approach to street photography is multifaceted, a reflection of my desire to capture more than just moments. I aim to encapsulate the essence of the streets, the untold stories, and the interplay of light and shadow. When I step onto the streets with my camera in hand, I do so with an open mind and a heart attuned to the poetry of life unfolding around me.
